- The Zion-Mt. Carmel tunnel in Zion National Park is the world’s longest tunnel at 1.1 miles long
- Zion National Park is the furthest west of the five national parks in southern Utah (Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, and Zion) and it is the most popular of the Utah National Parks
- Zion is a Hebrew word given to the canyon by Mormon settlers in the 1860’s
